What do you Want?

Sunday musings…

So, what do you want?

Loaded question, huh?

I often like to start wide - big picture wide - big questions, and then gradually hone in on the specifics. We often get lost in the details and lose sight of where we are, how we got there, why we are there in the first place.

If you’ve been reading my blog, you will know, I don’t have the answers. I will answer with another question: Why? Because, YOU have the answers you need if you take the time to discover them. All answers have more questions, which allows you to keep exploring, discovering, uncovering, delving in.

So, again, I say: what do you want?

What do you want to have?
What do you want to be?

Dream a little. Take off your bitter, jaded hat for a minute and dream. (I see you!)

And guess what my next question is to both of your answers?

Yes indeed…

Why?

What does that want to have/want to be SIGNIFY to you? Is it literal, tangible? Is it esoteric, spiritual? Is it both?

The significance of our wants often reveal how we are trying to live, or what we are trying to live! What is that significance revealing to you? How specific can you get?

As you explore the significance of your wants, what do you need to prepare for that? How do you develop the tools, both tangible and intangible, to DO that and BE that?

What actions need to be taken, in order for that significance to take up more room in your world?

How do you begin those actions? Follow up on those actions? Follow through with those actions?

Where do those actions lead? Do they focus in, or focus out? Or both? And what could the focus reveal? Or expose?

How do you intend those actions? Or how do you action those intentions?

At any point, as you get more and more specific, if you start to panic, throw up your hands, get angry, discouraged, anything that might make you procrastinate or run: STOP. Stop right where you are. What do you want in that moment? Trust your gut. Trust the first thing that comes to your mind. Sit with it. Breathe that in. Give yourself permission to be right there and no further. Perhaps that’s precisely where you need to be in your “want”.

Align yourself with what you want. Or, perhaps begin to align your wants with who you are, who are becoming, who you choose to be.

Keep asking questions. Keep exploring possibilities. Keep giving yourself permission to inhabit where you are, in order to discover what is there.

The knowing begets the knowing. The journey isn’t just one way. It’s multiple levels of your way. That path, that discovery, that exploration is uniquely and absolutely for YOU.

Sit down when you need to. Stand and stretch when you need to. Pay attention to what is right in front of you - and what is in your peripheral vision. There are wonderful questions there too!

Answers? Who needs all the answers? There is magic elsewhere…
