It's Not a Sprint
It’s been a couple of weeks since I posted. Much has happened in our world.
I truly believe that Mother Universe has said “Now that I have your attention”…
And now she does. Now we have a choice. We have many choices.
Do we listen and make change? Do we ignore and refuse to change?
I have taken these last two weeks to listen. To hear. To begin to ACTION from my own space. The last two days I spent listening, being held accountable for change with Broadway Advocacy Coalition. What a powerful experience that has been, and will continue to resonate onward.
There aren’t enough hours in the day. However…
This isn’t a sprint. This isn’t a quick fix. This is deep and messy and hard work.
It’s going to take understanding, realization, and real change. Real equality. In our industry and in our world.
What I am learning is that I must pace myself. Pace to have energy to do; to understand; to absorb. Pace to replenish;
So, tomorrow, I will continue to blog my Sunday Musings, about we, the artists, who will redefine, reemerge, rediscover, rearrange all that we are about. We define our times. We will do the deep work, the hard work, the messy work, the real work. And out of that chaos, and hurt, we, the artists, will build together something real and true and honest.
Our work demands it. One step at a time.
