Every time I come to see Susan, I know I’m going to leave walking on air with renewed confidence in what I can achieve vocally today and I what I can internalize when I go home and do my work. She hears everything — and yet rather than this being intimidating, it’s immensely reassuring as I learn the range of colors I can create with the tiniest of adjustments, and she’s there to walk me through all of it. Our nuanced and thoughtful work in the studio has been so informative about all aspects of life as a performer and as a human: the spoken voice, type, confidence and presentation, all of which extend their reach well beyond an audition room. Even if I’ve been away for a time, she’s instantly keyed in to every detail we’ve ever discussed and every triumph and stumble I've shared with her along the way. Her students are so incredibly important to her and it is such a privilege to count myself among them!
