Working with Susan is a breath of fresh air artistically! There is a genuine personal connection she creates with her students that is invaluable when it comes to making musical breakthroughs. The care she has for her students both personally and artistically fosters a wonderful environment to grow as an artist. Susan encourages me to step outside my comfort zone musically and explore new works. I would never have been able to tackle the world premiere of a modern opera without her guidance! She is patient when I am frustrated, and calm when I get angry - she always and ever encourages me to push just a little farther as an artist.
